The challenge

Student data was scattered across disconnected spreadsheets and legacy systems, sitting on a huge database where some tables had grown past 180 columns over the years. At the peak of registration each academic year, staff faced long queues and duplicate data entry, while the finance office needed days to produce a single report on installments and revenue.

The solution

We built a single ASP.NET web platform on top of the existing database after tuning it:

  • Electronic admission and registration screens covering the student lifecycle from application to graduation
  • Installment and payment management with receipts and overdue alerts
  • Admin dashboards with tiered permissions for departments, the deanship, and accounting
  • Financial and administrative reporting pages with advanced filtering and direct export
  • Query and index tuning on the existing large schema instead of replacing it
  • An Arabic RTL interface staff could use without lengthy training

The outcome

Registration is now fully electronic, the report that took days comes out in minutes, and student data is unified and trustworthy in one source. The platform has been in daily production since launch.
